This was so so easy. I draw a oval, cut two, stitched almost all the way flipped right side out, Stuffed, then using same thread starting from inside stitched one stitch alternating sides and pulling down to create eyes. Then still using same thread stitched closed.
Its not fancy, but…looks like a potato.
I did this free hand, I’m enjoying making my own patterns, its really not as hard and I had once thought. I guess its kinda like riding a bike, seems impossible but then its seems so easy.
Anyway I really like the way this one turned out.
The top was…interesting. I made a square. folded it down and stitched in generally to that shape, then whip stitched it to the squash after it was stuffed. The main body was two pieces in a squash like shape.
I’m really getting there with Pumpkin’s Birthday project. I can’t wait to share the play kitchen were making, I also can’t wait to finish it!

Another free hand trial. I actually grabbed a piece of my husbands bread (I’m gluten free so no bread for me) and traced it.
I cut out two white and then two long strips of tan.
I think its a bit over stuffed, I plan on trying again slightly differently but you get the idea/ first draft view.
This is another free hand, “lets see it if works idea”. I drew a general banana shape (cut two) and an ovalish shape the same length (cut one) for the banana in the off yellow color. Then for peel I used same pattern just slightly larger cut in white and yellow.
I sewed the yellow up to a point and matched that same level on white. Then put the sewn sides together so that the outside looks nice and smooth. Then in yellow thread I sewed the two together, trimming white as needed.
The banana actually peels.
And the banana comes out!
Though I think it looks better in as the banana ended up being fatter and less bananaee then I would have liked.
And now you have Fruit!!
This was fun. I totally just guessed with this one. I drew an oval thing like this, that when sewn together makes a ball and hoped it would work.
I made the stem by rolling up a rectangle piece of brown and sewing shut and the leaf was free hand. I did stitch a line down the center of leaf to make it look more real.
At first it was very..um..bally so I sewed a couple of pieces of thread straight through the entire apple top to bottom and back to create a dent in center.
Here you can see dent in bottom…sort of
So not perfect but I can’t wait to try again!
